Calling all Volunteers: Please help !

As you know, Richmond is celebrating their 175th Birthday on Saturday, Sept. 15. Richmond is one of the few cities in the State that has this many candals on their cake. This event will be a city-wide celebration and will be a free event opened to the public. A big parade will kick-off at 10:00 a.m. on Morton Street, and there will be activities all day, including entertianment, an old timey trolley car for historical tours, and so much more!

On Saturday, Sept. 8, one week before the big event, starting at 9:00 a.m., we will be decorating Downtown Richmond in Red, White and Blue.  This will take 30+ men and women to put up all of the decorations. We want it to be beautiful, so grab your wives, husbands, kids, friends and neighbors and come on out and help us make this celebration one to be remembered ! Please let me know you and yours will join us, and mark your calendars now - we  will have plenty of coffee, water and donuts.

Also, we are putting together a Decorations Committee to decorate the historic home, where the VIP Reception will be held for the sponsors of this event. If you are interested in joining this committee, please let me know. There will be two meetings between now and the event and then the home will be decorated prior to the reception on Sept. 15. Lanie Alveraz (owner of Italian Maid) is chairing this committee and Pat Hebert, (County Judge's wife) is chairing the VIP Reception.

Please consider helping with one or both of these community activities. Thank you for considering Historic Richmond Association and Richmond's 175th Birthday Celebration.
