"Our thoughts and prayers are extended to Albert and Marilyn Glover’s many family members and friends at this time of great loss. We were saddened to learn that former Fort Bend ISD Trustee Marilyn Glover died unexpectedly last Thursday," said Nancy Porter, Fort Bend ISD's Director of Communications, on behalf of the district. "As a Trustee, she will be remembered for her wonderful smile and tireless concern to serve all children in our community, especially those with the greatest need. We are grateful for her life and are better for her generosity and service to our District and the entire Fort Bend community."

Glover served as FBISD trustee from 2009-2012 and was a resident of Fort Bend County for almost 20 years. She was an Independent Marketing Consultant who previously worked at NASA and as a Southwest Area Personnel Manager, a Legislative, a Domestic Violence Victim’s Advocate and served as Executive liaison for a Fort Bend County Commissioner.

"I have known Marilyn and [her husband] Albert for over 10 years. Marilyn and I had so much in common and shared a passion for public service, specifically public education," said State Rep. Ron Reynolds. "Marilyn was committed to making sure that all children in Fort Bend ISD received a high quality education. We supported some of the same causes including: Child Advocates and Fort Bend Education Foundation. We both are long term residents of Missouri City and proud to volunteer for various causes. I will surely miss her. Heaven got another Angel named Marilyn Glover."

Glover was awarded the first recipient of the 2012 Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc.

Partners in Courage - Volunteer Award. She was an Honorable Mention recipient of the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas Annual Team Excellence Awards for 2010 and a member of the Texas Association of School Board’s Leadership Academy – Class of 2011-2012.

Glover was also a member of the School Board Advocacy Network, the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, Fort Bend Child Advocates Board, Children’s Advocacy Center Council, Fort Bend County Library Board, Parks Youth Ranch Advisory Board, Fort Bend Family Health Center Advisory Board, Fort Bend County Women’s Center Council of Resource and the Literacy Council Advisory Board.

She also volunteered with the Fort Bend YMCA, Sugar Land Exchange Club, Fort Bend Exchange Club, Fort Bend Regional Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse and the Fort Bend Women’s Ctr. Board.

"Marilyn and Albert have been dear friends of my family for many years. My daughter actually called her 'Aunt Marilyn.' Albert served as a City Council Member during part of my term as Mayor and Marilyn just finished serving as a Fort Bend ISD Board Member. Both of them have been very active in many ways in our community. Marilyn always had a smile on her face and laughter in her heart," said Missouri City Mayor Allen Owen. "She enjoyed life and loved doing for others. I know God had a need for Marilyn to help him fulfill a special job that was unique whatever it was. We will all miss her very much, but will remember the many fun times we had together and how she touched each of our lives in a different way. May God hold the family in his arms and give them comfort during this very difficult time in their lives."
