A Call for Help

Our Shelter is in desperate need of sizes 4, 5 and 6 diapers, pull-ups and baby wipes. If you can help, please drop off your donations at one of our four PennyWise locations.

We are so proud of our case manager, Victoria Lucio. Ms. Lucio was presented with the annual Carol Rees Award in honor of Service for Victims of Crime. Well done Ms. Vicky!

As I look back at this year, there is so much to be thankful for. With your help, we have been able to continue in our mission to help survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault when some agencies have had to shut their doors or at the very least, significantly lower their level of service due to budget cuts. I eagerly watch our volunteers and staff conduct outreach exercises with various audiences and know that with each person they reach and in turn, with each person that person reaches, we are taking a giant leap in the fight against domestic violence and sexual assault. All of this is a result of our hardworking volunteers and generous supporters. We have so much to be grateful for.

I thank you for giving so selflessly of your time and money. We are truly blessed to have you as part of our Women's Center family. I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Executive Director, FBCWC

Gillman Tournament Sponsors, Players and Volunteers

Thank you to all our sponsors, players and volunteers that participated in the 17th Annual Ramsay Gillman Charitable Golf Tournament. We had a record-breaking year in terms of funds raised and that would not have been possible without each and every one of you. WAY TO GO!

Thank You Chevron

Chevron provided funds and volunteers through the Chevron HumanKind Project to add kiddie mulch to the Women's Center shelter playgrounds. In addition, they also did some landscaping around the grounds. Special thanks to Nancy Dunham, Chevron HumanKind Project Team Lead and Susie Hebert, Community Engagement Specialist for facilitating this year’s project.

We Will Survive

The sounds of Gloria Gaynor's "We Will Survive" filled Sugar Land Town Square the night of October 26 as the Women's Center Flash Mob descended on the Square. The goal was to bring Domestic Violence Awareness Month to light in a fun, but educational way. Thank you to Dance du Couer and One Beat Dance Company for your help in making our flash mob a success!

Texana Clients Strut the Catwalk

Thank you Texana for sharing the catwalk with PennyWise Resale Centers! Their Exchange Club Fashion Show included a clothing drive that benefited PennyWise. Texana clients modeled fashions from PennyWise and other models donned their own clothing and donated the fashions to PennyWise.
