My letter will be short and sweet this month. We have so much to be thankful for as you will see below! I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or whatever holiday you may be celebrating. Here's to the best in 2013!

Executive Director, FBCWC

Thank You

SportsRadio 610 J&R Yuletide Drive

When Josh Innes and Rich Lord took to the airwaves on Monday, December 3, they told us they hoped to raise $5k for the Women's Center. But when the J&R Yuletide Drive closed, thanks to the generosity of their listeners, we had received pledges for $70k plus donations of diapers, wipes and many other essential supplies! This exceeded our wildest dreams! Thank you so much SportsRadio610, Josh, Rich, their listeners and all the donors who gave their support!

Fort Bend Junior Service League

We were one of the lucky beneficiaries of the 2012 Sugar Plum Market presented by the Fort Bend Junior Service League. The Sugar Plum Market has become such a treasured Fort Bend holiday tradition that benefits so many Fort Bend non-profits and we are so honored to be counted as one. Thank you FBJSL for your continued support of our mission!

Japaneiro's Sushi Bistro and Latin Fusion Grill

Last year the men of Japaneiro's grew their 'Staches for Cash... This year, they grew some Beards for Bucks! We can't help but love their creativity as they grow facial hair all in the name of the Women's Center. We were honored to accept their $650 donation and let the guys know they could shave again!

Can You Say, "Gobble, Gobble"?

Thanks to the following donors and many more, we were able to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for all of our clients that would not have had one otherwise:

  • Jim Adler
  • Brightwater Garden Club
  • Calvary Episcopal Church
  • Firetron
  • Fort Bend Friends and Neighbors
  • Fort Bend Senior Citizens
  • Fort Bend Sheriff's Academy
  • George Ranch FFA
  • Wayne Glemser
  • Rotary Club of Richmond
  • Royal Dukes Club
  • Deanna Smith
  • St. Theresa Catholic Church
  • Sugar Land Exchange Club "Garland Mueller" Turkey Drive
  • Sugar Land and Mission Bend COC
  • Sugar Mill Montessori

Santa Store

Thanks to donations ranging from 110 bikes and more than 1,000 toys from corporations like Firetron, Westlake Chemical and neighborhood toy drives to smaller individual donations, our clients and their children will be able to have a very nice Christmas this year complete with presents to unwrap. Thank you also to everyone who has volunteered their time to set up the Santa Store and will be helping clients "shop" next week!

Nice and Cozy!

Our clients will be warm and cozy this winter wrapped in beautiful quilts donated by the "Nutty Knotters" and other quilting groups. The quilts are all unique and handmade! Thank you!

Happy Holidays

Because of your loyalty to FBCWC we say “thank you” and offer you this “Gift Certificate” which entitles you and your family to an abundance of love, peace and joy this holiday giving season. Your support of the Fort Bend County Women’s Center is appreciated and we look forward to you working with us as we continue helping these survivors become safe and self-sufficient.
