Re: Wish Upon A Star 2011

Several churches and organizations are sponsoring “Wish Upon A Star 2011.”

They are colleting about 2,000 gifts for children, elderly and refugees who hope for one gift.

A paper star represents each person.  The star has a code number with his or her name, age and wish.  Every star represents a real person.

Some of these stars will bring make you pause.

How about, “A female girl, age 8, asking for a pair of jeans, size 10.”

Attached is a one-page explanation and the list of the participating organizations.  I received the information from Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in Sugar Land.  The church office has several boxes of stars and they are in categories by sex and age groups.

Also attached is a page of 5 stars that I took.  I am just showing them to you as an example.

If anyone is interested in picking up a few stars they can contact church office at St. Lawrence (3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land, 77479, 281-980-9812), or tell me.

Give me your parameters (girl / boy / age group / elderly) and I will get the star to you.

If anyone would like several to choose from, I scan and e-mail them for their consideration.

The gifts need to be dropped off (wrapped) no later than Friday, December 9.  I would also be happy to pick them up.
