July Winner - Each One, Reach One Challenge

Congratulations to Patrick C. Harrington, The Exchange Club of Isle of Palms, SC!

Please join us in congratulating Patrick for introducing six new members to Exchange in July 2013! Patrick exceeded the "Each One, Reach One!" challenge and recruited the most new members during the first  month of the Just One More Campaign.  For his hard work, Patrick has received a miniature billboard award to proudly display his accomplishment.

For additional information about the "Each One, Reach One!" challenge and the Just One More Campaign - including details about how you could win a full size billboard in your hometown and another in New Orleans for the 2014 National Convention - please visit Exchange's website

Reminder - 2013 Court of Honor

The 2013 Court of Honor
is less than two weeks away!

Please make plans to join us:

The National Exchange Club - Toledo, OH

Saturday, October 12, at 4:30 p.m.

This year's inductees will include:

  • Floyd A. Culver
  • William C. Kohler
  • Arthur W. McConnell
  • Sidney T. Mobley

This exceptional group  is comprised of Exchangites who are unwavering in making communities better places to live through the Programs of Service and Exchange's National Project, the prevention of child abuse. For their dedication and commitment, these four gentlemen are being honored with Exchange's highest and most lasting recognition.

For additional information about the Court of Honor, please visit Exchange's  website.

For additional information about attending this year's event, please call 800-924-2643.

New Clubs Welcomed!

Please join us in welcoming three new clubs for the

2013 - 2014 administrative year!

Executive Vice President, Tracey Edwards; Director of Club and Member Development and Events, Jim Addis; and Territory Manager, Ted Lindsley, raise state flags at The National Exchange Club Headquarters in celebration of new Exchange Clubs in Arizona (above) and Florida (below).

The 2nd new club of the year is The Exchange Club of Chandler, AZ, which chartered on August 30, with 28 members.

The 3rd  new club of the year is The Exchange Excel Club of Shorecrest High School, FL, which chartered on September 19, with 49 members.

The 4th new club of the year is The Burg Exchange Club of St. Petersburg, FL, which chartered on September 19, with 24 members.

Congratulations to club builder Owen Fabert for his effort in chartering the Chandler, AZ, club, and Kathy Mize, Mark Dayton and Diane Cohrs for their hard work establishing the Florida clubs!

NEC Foundation - Ocean Campaign

The National Exchange Club Foundation is proud to sponsor The Ocean Campaign, derived from the notion that every drop of rain adds to the size of the ocean.

Although simple, the campaign is significant! Each club is asked to pass around a campaign bucket at each meeting, asking members to add their spare change. For the NEC Foundation, each donation generously contributed - regardless of size - makes an impact.

If your club supported The Ocean Campaign last year, we thank you!

For information about participating in this year's campaign, please contact the NEC Foundation at 800-924-2643 or development@nationalexchageclub.org.

Programs of Service Ideas

As we enter the fall season, new opportunities for Exchange Clubs and members  to better their communities are upon us. Here are a few suggestions to help generate project ideas for this wonderful time of year:

October is Crime and Fire Prevention Month. Club and members may consider:

  • Honoring local law enforcement or fire fighters
  • Partnering with local law enforcement to sponsor an identity theft or anti-bullying seminar
  • Planning a National Day of Service project to be held on October  26th, the 4th Saturday of the month

November is One Nation Under God Month. To participate, clubs could:

·         Volunteer at a local homeless shelter or church where Thanksgiving dinners are being served

·         Plan Thanksgiving dinner for a local family, or families, in need

Please remember to share pictures of your club at work with National Headquarters via commun@nationalexchangeclub.org

For additional information regarding service projects, please visit Exchange's website.

Just One More!

A Call To Action ...

  Just One More

National President Don Wright is calling on every Exchangite to recruit Just One More member - "Each One, Reach One!"

The idea is simple, really. If each one of us recruited only one member, Exchange would double its membership, and the services our clubs could provide to communities!

In addition to knowing you've made a difference, each member to recruit a new Exchangite will receive a lapel pin as a symbol of the accomplishment. And, the member with the longest chain of new Exchangites (think of the "pay it forward" concept) will receive a billboard in his/her hometown and New Orleans, LA,  for the 2014 National Convention!

For additional information, please visit the "Campaigns" section at the bottom of our homepage.

Website and Database Update

The new Exchange website and database, which was introduced in June, has quickly become a resource for many members and National Staff. With features designed to help Club Members and Club Officers update contact information and, based on user permission, specific club/member information.

Access information was sent to Exchangites through email. If you haven't already sent up your account, please contact Member Services at 800-924-2643. If you have established your account, please verify that your contact information and, if you are authorized to do so, your club's information is current.

Thank you!

Family Dues Membership Now Available

At the 2013 Convention, delegates passed an amendment allowing clubs to pay reduced National dues for family members, even if members belong to different clubs. This new family membership incentive allows clubs to recruit spouses without the burden of doubling their National dues!

As defined by the amendment, clubs will pay National dues of $18.50 per quarter for the first family member and $10 per each additional family member. The reduced-rate members will have all the rights and privileges of an active member.

Should you have questions, please contact your Club Officers.

Attention Club Officers ...

Have you heard about the new and improved Exchange University?

Learn valuable tools and best practices for making your role as club officer easier. Exchange University is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year - from anywhere you can connect to the internet!

Additional information will be sent via email, with the subject line "XC - Exchange University Course Available." The email will contain a link to log in and be accompanied by your unique username and password.

Clubs are busy finishing new club building projects. New Club Building BLITZ Campaign boosts efforts!

Several club building projects are in the works and now is the time to bring these projects to completion! President Lou Molitor and the National Board voted to extend the New Club Building BLITZ through June 30th, the close of this administrative year.

This will give club builders the opportunity to use this helpful tool to launch new clubs with 15-19 members and a $375 fee.   "The BLITZ has been a big success as 8 of the last 19 clubs came in under this program.  Clubs asked for more time, so we have extended the BLITZ at their request," President Molitor said.  For more information click HERE.
