Mary Gready with the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Department and Exchange Club of Fort Bend member, Sam Dick.

Big thanks to Mary Gready from the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Department for speaking to our club today, March 3, 2010, about the For Bend Partnership for Youth programs. Programs included were the FBC Male Mentorship Program, Project L.E.A.P. (Leadership-Education Action Program), One to One Mentoring, Enrichment Mentors, The Parent Project, Inc. and the newest Bow Wow Boot Camp.

The Bow Wow Boot Camp is a partnership between the Fort Bend County Animal Services, the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Department, Fort Bend Partnership for Youth and dog-loving volunteers from the community.

Cadets from the Juvenile Leadership Academy program will be taught to care for and train the shelter dogs in basic obedience skills, making the dogs more adoptable.

For some of the kids and the dogs, this relationship is the first time they have ever experienced unconditional love. Both the kids and the dogs need another chance at life!

The Bow Wow Boot Camp kennels will be located at the Fort Bend COunty Juvenile Probation Department, 122 Golfview Drive in Richmond.
